4-Day First Aid at Work
A
H.S.E. certified course which covers the rudiments of first
aid. Delivered over a 4 day period, the course contains a combination
of theoretical and practical sessions inter dispersed with quizzes
to ensure that candidates pick up the necessary skills and knowledge
and attain the required level of competency. A H.S.E. recognised
certificate is issued following successful completion of assessment
by external examiners on day four of the course.

include:
Scene
Assessment, Priorities and Triage.
Related Anatomy and Physiology.
Resuscitation & Basic Life Support includes dealing with
Choking, Causes of Unconsciousness including Epilepsy, Diabetes,
Alcohol, Drug & Substance abuse. Recovery Position. Heart
Attack, Angina. Electric Shock, Burns. Minor Wound Care, Bleeding
& Shock.
Safety of the First Aider including HIV, Aids & Hepatitis.
Fractures, Sprains & Dislocations, Spinal Injury. Poisoning,
Strokes, Head Injury.
Reporting accidents. Contents of First Aid Kits.
H.S.E. Regulations.
2-Day
First Aid at Work Refresher
This
refresher course is required every 3 years to keep the First
Aid at Work certificate current.
1-Day
Basic Appointed Persons Course
Intended
as an introduction to some of the essentials of first aid
such as basic life support and dealing with the unconscious.
4-Hour
Emergency First Aid Course
Moving
and Handling Awareness
Defibrillation
Training
Custom
designed basic or advanced courses
One example could be an on site
first aid training scenario to add a high degree of realism
using casualty simulation and your own equipment.
The
above courses all offer good quality training and equip the
candidate with the knowledge and skills to deal with a situation
requiring first aid intervention.

Courses
can be run specifically for your organisation or if numbers
are low can join prearranged courses, dates throughout the
year. Times can also be manipulated to suit availability,
for example, four consecutive Tuesdays.
